Kuala Lumpur Condo Tour Vlog | Malaysia Expat Life @ 157 Hampshire Place

Come with me on a tour of 157 Hampshire Place, my new home in Kuala Lumpur for the next 2 years. I have moved from quite an expat-heavy residential area into something akin to an oasis inside the heart of the KLCC urban jungle.  The neighbourhood is called Hampshire Park and it’s located just one block from the KLCC tube stop and only two blocks away from Petronas Twin Towers and I couldn’t be happier.  Literally within a 5 – 7 minute walk I now have countless cafes, amazing restaurants with rooftop views of the city, street food at places like TAPAK, and everything else I could possibly need between the Suria Mall at Petronas, Avenue K, and the Ampang Mall.

Given how inexpensive KL is compared to other cities, when I first moved here I rented a big, comfy condo in Mont Kiara (a 3 bedroom unit with maid’s quarters and a separate 2nd kitchen which is very typical in Malaysia).  However, over time I realised that I wasn’t going out much there, not even to the cinema.  Now I’m in a small 1 bedroom condo and paying roughly the same as I was paying for the larger condo but I’m insanely happier in my new home!  In part because I”m now living right downtown and it’s a thrill to walk by Petronas Towers each day on my to anywhere 🙂  But also in part for my new condo itself and the over-water tranquility lounge in my building where I spend so much time writing, check it out!

XOXO ~ Angela

You make the same mistake that 95 % of the video bloggers make. You constantly keep showing yourself instead showing the object you're talking about.

Would have been quite interesting. But that brainless, noisy background music makes it plainly prohibitive to listen to. I'm out.

You have no idea how helpful it is to see videos from someone who is an actual expat and not just someone working in KL. There’s nothing wrong with any lifestyle but it’s useful to have content from someone more senior in their career. Thank you!

Very nice place! I'm curious if you used a particular service to help you find a place to live. I'd like to know, as I may be moving there in the future. I especially enjoy your videos about your every day life. Thank you!

I saw an online comment elsewhere that the AC is so loud at night that you can't sleep properly. Is that true based on your stay there? And are there any problems with the condo?

Having an income of $2000 per month I cannot rent a condo in Singapore. As the rental is very high. But fortunately I'm happy that I'm renting a condo in JOHOR BAHRU. The rental is RM1200 per month equivalent to SGD 480 which I could afford. There's a rooftop pool, jacuzzi and other facilities.

Very nice place indeed. I was just there to go to the Chinese Visa Center. Smile.

Lovely. I'm well traveled but haven't been to KL yet. You sold me on the city and the channel. Just subbed.

I am actually considering renting at Hampshire Place and this is how i found your video. I am starting work beginning of next year. At first i was searching in mont and the other expat areas. But for the exactly the same reasons i am now searching more downtown area. Any other buildings you can recommend? I am traying to avoid the 50% AIRBNB buildings. Maybe we bumb into eachother next year. Your video helped a lot. Thank you Angela!
